Most importantly, all of this is applied by Nick with a truly personal touch in customized programs sensitive to each client's individual health and fitness goals.

Form & Function

Intricately intertwined and inseparable in the design and development of art and structure, so the concept of form and function hold true in the design and development of the human body.

In the world-of-fitness, the problem lies in the failure of the personal trainer to recognize this most paramount-of–parallels. Whether in ignorance or misunderstanding, inexperience or incompetence, the failure to draw the line between form and function in exercise leads to strain and injury; function and safety are key.

The body must have the correct form in order to obtain the desired results and, thus, the desired function. By changing the form in which the body performs the exercise, you then decrease the opportunity for injury due to unwanted stress and strain on the body inversely increasing positive results—muscle gain, flexibility and cardio vascular stamina. Over the continuum-of-time exercise, if done properly, can change the shape-of-the-body which will, in turn, increase the body’s ability to function more efficiently and effectively.

Increasing flexibility and muscle strength so that the body stays within the boundaries of proper form reduces strain in all areas of the body especially those prone to injury due to overuse—the back, joints and ligaments. Thus, all training should be performed considering the boundaries and parameters of the body in which you are working in order to improve the overall fitness of that body. In essence, conditioning and influencing the proper development of the body is based heavily on how the body is designed to work; working against the way the body is designed to work leads to strain and injury – wasted motion and time.

Safety is key. Form and Function are key.
An experienced, educated, intuitive personal trainer is key!

He has a real old school approach mixed with cutting edge knowledge. Nick goes the extra mile for all of his clients. Training is his passion and if he won the lottery tomorrow and never had to work again, you would find Nick in the gym helping someone be a better person."
~ Steve Maxwell, Strength and Conditioning Expert and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and World Champion

"I started working out with Nick Odorisio in 2004, after many years of good intentions and half-hearted attempts to start fitness training beyond normal cardio. Through Nick's innovative techniques and attentiveness to his client's needs, I have not only gained strength and tone, but feel great and remain addicted to my sessions. When I have an ache or pain, Nick adapts the training to improve the situation, not just work around it, and I always leave feeling better than when I come in. I look forward to many more years of working with Nick to keep me young."
~ Howard Morris, Bryn Mawr, PA

"I started working out with Nick over ten years ago and could not be any happier with the way I look and feel today at age 50. Nick has helped me trim fat from my body and build overall strength, enabling me to stay fit and maintain a healthy figure over the years. In addition, has guided me through post surgery workouts for both my feet and shoulders expediting my recovery exponentially each time. Training with Nick has absolutely enhanced my physical lifestyle, keeping me extremely motivated with his helpful and professional personality."
~ Mindy Sklaroff, Age: 51

"I began training with Nick to increase my physical strength for my high school athletics. Nick took the time to learn my strengths and weaknesses, as well as my overall physical imitations. Over the past ten plus years of training with Nick, he has helped move beyond those limitations and build my strength to a level I never could have imagined. I now look forward to pushing those limits and working out even harder each-and-every time. Nick has been a great coach, teacher, and trainer and I have him to thank for keeping me in great physical shape over the years."
~ Carli Sklaroff, Age: 23

"Nick has been my personal trainer for over 3 years. When I started training with him, I had never been able to stay with an exercise program for more than a few months. Knowing this, Nick paced my workouts to help me feel more positive about exercising and actually look forward to doing it. For years I have dealt with chronic lower back pain. Nick was able to assess the causes of my back pain and has helped me to become almost completely free from it. During the workouts, Nick's subtle suggestions about diet and exercise helped me to change my eating habits dramatically and incorporate daily walks into my exercise routine. After hating my body for 25 years, I can now say that I love my body, both how it looks and how it functions. Nick is the best!"
~ Patti Cashman, Havertown

"Nick's knowledge of the body and experience in his field have made a significant difference for me, he doesn't leave out anything—core strength, range-of-motion, balance, flexibility—we work it all. I no longer have to worry about aggravating old injuries, he always listens, and finds a way to do things to make weaknesses improve without compromising my safety or level of comfort. I confidently recommend Nick to my friends and their parents because everyone needs to stay strong as they age."
~ Connie Goldberg, Merion Station

"I've done gym memberships, I've bought home workout equipment, I've tried self-motivation to exercise and nothing has worked as well as the personal one-on-one attention I get from Nick. He customized a fitness program for me that works—it's almost as if he sees the FIT person inside you and works THAT person out. Nick is a no-nonsense guy with a great sense- of-humor. If you're 100% committed to taking the FIRST step in lifelong fitness Nick's program will take you the rest of the way!
~ David Newman, 43, Bryn Mawr PA

"At our age, my wife and I see working with Nick as a good health imperative. We have more mountains to climb and Nick will help to make sure we are up to it."
~ MK, 54, Haverford

"Nick was very focused in helping me to reach, and surpass, my abilities within the training goals I presented during our first meeting. He worked closely with me to evaluate my expectations, and drafted a realistic timeline and achievable training curriculum which addressed my original goals, and also challenged me to continue building core techniques."
~ Garri Banar, Philadelphia

"I always look forward to my training sessions with Nick. No matter how I feel when I enter the gym, I always have a great workout and leave feeling great. Nick has helped me over the past few months to become stronger than I ever could have imagined. I had found it extremely difficult to motivate myself to get in shape, but Nick seems to be able to push me that extra bit that I need to get the results I desire. Nick has always been very professional in every conceivable way: his knowledge, punctuality, attention to detail, and his ability to develop my weak areas. Nick has helped me to focus more on using proper techniques when training, rather than striving for excessive repetitions.
~ Sean Cashman

"Nick Odorisio is the best. I came to him as a professional opera singer who was in desperate need of physical conditioning. Nick not only provides the motivation, he backs up my specialized training with a wealth of knowledge and experience. My work outs with him not only serve to better my general conditioning and endurance, they are tailor made for my specific needs as a performer, ensuring I don't hinder my general vocal mechanism.
~ Ian DeNolfo, operatic tenor

"Growing up I never participated in athletics of any kind but, in five years of training with Nick, I have never felt out-of-place. Nick's approach to fitness is completely void of any pretensions, I am always at ease in his gym and with my current level-of-fitness. The workouts he creates are always just right, always challenging—pushing me to greater results, but never too far as to leave me feeling anything other than a success each-and-every time. I always look forward to the next session and never look at the clock because each workout is different, keeping me interested and challenged by integrating various components from core strength and balance to strength and flexibility.
